We Have This Hope
But even in the midst of so much change and uncertainty, we believe there is hope. And our hope is unshakable. The Bible says, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure” (Hebrews 6:19).
We Have This Hope
But even in the midst of so much change and uncertainty, we believe there is hope. And our hope is unshakable. The Bible says, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure” (Hebrews 6:19).
At Hope for the Heart, we are committed to biblical truth. We believe God’s Word speaks to life’s greatest challenges. That is why we have always strived to provide God’s truth for today’s problems.
The problems of the world today seem staggering and overwhelming. The experience of millions this year has been discouraging, heartbreaking, and chaotic to say the least. The coronavirus pandemic led to job losses, financial struggles, and untold stories of mental, emotional, and family issues.
Then, as the pandemic began to normalize, our nation witnessed a series of injustices including the horrific and tragic death of George Floyd. The resulting protests, riots, and ongoing national discussions about race, equality, and justice continue to be at the forefront of the news.
A Biblical Perspective
Our founder, June Hunt, has long spoken and written from a biblical perspective on issues such as prejudice, bigotry, racism, violence, anger, reconciliation, forgiveness and more. What God says on these critical matters is of utmost relevance today. June has recently discussed these events numerous times on our radio broadcast, Hope in the Night. She has affirmed God’s condemnation of racism and violence as well as our condemnation of the brutal and unjust killing of Mr. George Floyd. You can listen to the Hope in the Night archives here.
We have also posted a candid discussion on “Protests, Relationships and the Church” with noted African-American leader Dr. Mark Crear and Dr. Eric Scalise, our Senior Vice President. You can view that discussion here.
Free Resources
In addition, we have numerous biblical resources on the topics of Prejudice, Violence, Abuse, Anger, Fear, Conflict Resolution, Reconciliation, and more. We invite you to access our free downloads or visit our online store for resources to help you and help you help others navigate these troubling times.
Topics are covered in greater detail in our Keys for Living library. There are two places you can get them.
Weep With Those Who Weep
As Christians, we are called to “weep with those who weep” (Romans 12:15), to listen to and learn from God and others (Proverbs 1:5), to seek justice and help the oppressed (Isaiah 1:17), to seek the peace of our cities and pray to the Lord for welfare of our communities (Jeremiah 29:7), and above all, to share the hope and life-changing message of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20).
So as we pray for our country, we remember our hope. In the face of so much tragedy and injustice, it can be tempting to cave in to despair and anxiety as the world seems to shift every day. We can too easily forget that God is at work even now.
Even in the midst of so much change and uncertainty, we believe there is hope. And our hope is unshakable. The Bible says, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure” (Hebrews 6:19).
Hold Fast to Our Anchor
As we hold fast to our anchor, the Lord Jesus, we remain committed to sharing biblical hope and practical help for life’s toughest challenges. We are humbled and blessed to share the hope of Christ in our country and around the world. We are grateful to be a part of God’s plan to bring people to Himself from “every nation, tribe, people and language” (Revelation 7:9) and to bring hope and healing to hurting hearts.
We walk through these tumultuous times together guided by the light of God’s Word . . . “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105 ESV). Let’s continue to pray and move forward together – with hope, with one another, and above all, with God.
Sincerely,
Hope for the Heart
