Hope for the Heart joins thousands of counselors and those serving in caregiving ministries as we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Larry Crabb, who passed into His Savior’s loving arms on Sunday, February 28. He was a giant in the field of Christian Counseling and a strong passionate voice, particularly when it comes to the role of the Church, what it means to live in true community, and our call to address the hurts and needs of others.
Dr. Crabb was a best-selling author, Bible teacher, spiritual director, and Distinguished Scholar in Residence at Colorado Christian University. No doubt many of us have read his books and probably have several titles sitting on our bookshelves.
Founder of NewWay Ministries
As the Founder of NewWay Ministries, he was a pioneer in showing how biblical truths could and should be integrated into the people helping process. Dr. Eric Scalise, Hope for the Heart’s Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer offers his thoughts:
“Having had the honor and blessing of knowing Larry (he liked to drop the ‘Dr.’), whenever there was an opportunity to sit with him, you were compelled to be silent and just wanted to listen. Only eternity will tell the full story of the countless lives that were impacted by all the Lord did in and through him.”
Dr. Larry Crabb Quote
“A vision we give to others of who and what they could become has power when it echoes what the Spirit has already spoken into their souls.” – Dr. Larry Crabb
