The summer before my senior year of high school, I was training hard for a college basketball scholarship. After an unfortunate injury in which I tore my ACL, and a time in my life when home life was hard, I didn’t feel that life was going that well at the moment. Around that time, a family friend shared a verse from the Bible that really got me back on track. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). I realized that what I was going through was just a bump in the road. There is never any reason to give up hope; even when no one else is around to support you, the tool of Scripture that God gave us is always there to give light for our path and to get through the tough times we go through.
