Bible Verses on Addiction & Recovery
Addictions promise freedom but become enslaving.
“They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you.”
(2 Peter 2:19 NLT)
God does not want you to be mastered or enslaved by anything.
“I have the right to do anything,” you say – but not everything is beneficial.
“I have the right to do anything” –but I will not be mastered by anything.”
(1 Corinthians 6:12)
God can help you break free from bad habits and addictions.
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
(John 8:36)
