Dallas — Hope for the Heart, a Dallas-based Christian ministry, will tackle the issue of perseverance on August 29-31, 2006, during the Biblical Counseling Institute Conference. The message is entitled “Success Through Failure, Turning Stumbling Blocks Into Stepping Stones,” and will aid listeners in clearing life’s many hurdles. Led by June Hunt, each BCI conference provides in-depth, interactive teaching based on the organization’s topical, proprietary Biblical Counseling Library. The fall 2006 BCI schedule began in July with the topic of Spiritual Abuse, and will continue through November 2006.
“God takes us through many failures to reveal the flaws that hide in the corners of our character,” said June Hunt, Hope for the Heart CEO and founder. As we resond in faith to the failures that puncture our pride, God guides us onto the path to real success, which is being conformed to the character of Christ. This month’s conference speaks to all who have experienced the heartbreak of disappointing themselves and others, and who now seek practical help to turn their failures into success.”
Hope for the Heart’s life-changing resources provide God’s Truth for Today’s Problems. Over the past 20 years, Hunt and her team have mined the Bible to unearth God’s unchanging nuggets of truth. The focus of the ministry is providing realistic steps to apply these life-changing truths to life.
Ms. Hunt founded the ministry’s first radio program, also called Hope for the Heart, in 1986. Initially, the program was heard on 23 stations across the United States. Now, Hope for the Heart’s 55-member organization airs three different broadcasts heard on over 150 stations. In addition to radio broadcasts and BCI training, the organization offers print, Web and audio tools based on more than 100 topics, called the Biblical Counseling Library.
Demand for a dynamic type of teaching led Ms. Hunt to found Hope for the Heart in 1986. She also created a Bible study called Counseling Through The Bible in 1989, and launched the Biblical Counseling Institute in 2002. This year, the Association of Christian Schools International accredited the conferences, enabling all ACSI teachers to obtain continuing education units through BCI attendance.
The number of these Dallas-based events has tripled over the last four years because the training is uniquely practical, relevant and biblical. All Institute conferences teach solutions based on the Biblical Counseling Library of more than 100 Biblical Counseling Keys. These Keys unlock the door of understanding on such everyday issues as Forgiveness, Fear, Marriage, Parenting, Depression, Divorce and Death. The Keys also tackle high-profile topics, such as Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Adultery, Abortion Prevention, Euthanasia, Childhood Sexual Abuse, Wife Abuse, Homosexuality and Sexual Addiction.
A virtual “toolbox for life,” each of the Biblical Counseling Keys contains definitions, characteristics, causes and steps to discover lasting solutions to life’s most pressing issues. These Keys have provided the core content for every aspect of ministry the team has undertaken over the past two decades, including its award-winning broadcasts.
Throughout the fall schedule, the conferences will focus on helping individuals move back into an intimate walk with Christ. Other topics this fall include Verbal and Emotional Abuse, Sexual Integrity and Conflict Resolution.
